Our group was founded in 1999 by three moms who found each other on the Internet looking to connect with others with a child with an Omphalocele. Together they came up with ‘Mothers of Omphaloceles’, or ‘MOOs’.
One of the co-founders developed the initial web site, Omphalocele.com, and a support group on YahooGroups, EmailMOOs, was launched. EmailMOOs has around 650 members and has reached thousands of families. The black white/cow print theme of our logo support ribbon is a play on our name and reminds us of the joy and fun we find in having a blessed child born with this condition.
This site has been put together based on the initial vision by the original co-founders. Special acknowledgement to Jennifer Smith Mills whose hard work and determination to re-launch a new and improved Omphalocele web site is greatly appreciated.
Site lovingly built by Su & Paul- parents to Sabryna, 21 months, giant O repaired and she is doing so well!
